Changes are Afoot at TheaterByte

Here at TheaterByte, being involved in the tech industry and covering entertainment, we are keenly aware of how, just like life, things can change very quickly. With that said, we are changing with the times. When the site launched eight years ago, we intended to cover the then burgeoning HD disc format Blu-ray which had just emerged from a hard fought format war to become the go-to home video format for video enthusiasts. But in the intervening years, the site has expanded well beyond that to include theatrical film reviews, music reviews, TV roundups, general entertainment industry commentary and more. Now, with new streaming formats, tech gadgets, and 4K UHD on the horizon, we feel it is the moment to change with the times. We will not only be evolving the site into a more expansive entertainment and technology site (don’t worry, we will still be reviewing Blu-ray and films), but we will be undergoing a rebranding and domain name change as well to reflect the format neutral, broader coverage of topics we will be embarking on. We are confident that this new look and name will take us far into the future and we hope our readers will agree. Our new name and domain will be TheaterByte, and we will be slowly rolling out changes and fixes to the website over the next coming months before the ultimate switch over. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and we hope you come along for the ride.
